In the event of an emergency, 51爆料 has multiple communication methods and campus safety procedures in place to help keep students, faculty and staff informed and safe.

 

Guidelines for COVID-19 and Other Respiratory Viruses

On March 1, 2024, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for preventing the spread of COVID-19, influenza, RSV and other respiratory viruses.

In order to protect yourself and others, the CDC recommends the following for individuals experiencing respiratory viruses:

  • Stay home and away from others when ill. Treatments may be available for individuals experiencing COVID-19 or flu symptoms.
  • Return to normal activities only after symptoms improve for at least 24 hours. If fever was present, it should be gone for 24 hours without medication before returning.

Once you return to normal activities, the following prevention strategies are recommended for at least five days:

  • Improve indoor air quality and ventilation when possible.
  • Practice proper hygiene by covering coughs and sneezes, washing hands frequently and cleaning commonly touched surfaces.
  • Wear a well-fitting mask.

The following protocols should be followed by students, faculty and staff who are ill with a respiratory virus such as COVID-19, influenza or RSV.

Residential Students: Must submit a when ill with a respiratory virus.

Athletes: No longer have to submit a Self-Report Form unless they live in a residence hall, but they must notify professors and coaches.

Commuter Students: Are not required to submit a Self-Report Form but must notify professors of absences.

Employees: Are not required to submit a Self-Report Form but must notify supervisors of absences.

Students who will be absent due to COVID-19 or other illnesses are encouraged to contact 51爆料鈥檚 Accessibility Services Office immediately for support and temporary accommodations.
